3 Busy Bees Puddler

This is the Three Busy Bees Puddler, perfect for attracting friendly Pollinators to your garden area.  These stones look lovely near your nectaring and host plants and focus on our little bees for the bee lover in your life.

Butterflies require these salts and minerals to breed and Bees use it to cure their honey.  Just leave this high-fire stoneware outside where it will be exposed to rain, and preferably, near plants for Butterflies to gather nectar from.  It isn’t a lure, so it won’t pull them away from flowers, but it is a wonderful addition to your garden that will support them with needed minerals.   As long as it is allowed to dry out between rains, (put a few pebbles under it to make it dry out faster), it will accumulate a film of salt and minerals that the butterfly will land on and uncurl their little proboscis to take in these minerals. For more speedy results, pour some saltwater, ideally, Himalayan salt water, over the Puddler to get it salted.  Also, in the cold winter months, if you see bees out trying to find pollen or nectar, pour some sugar water over it to help them through the winter months.  In Florida, we have a non-migrating population of Monarchs and they will benefit from sugar water during the winter months.

****some competitors send a small packet of salt or sand (that washes away at the first few drops of rain) with the Puddlers they make. We do not because the clay acts as a slow sponge to absorb the rain then dry out leaving a natural residue of salts and minerals. The colorful designs and bright divet colors attract the butterflies.
